From the founder

Years in clinical fitness taught me exactly what the body needs, and I couldn't find it anywhere.

I'm Laurence. I'm a clinical physiologist and nutritionist who's spent over 10 years working for healthcare providers, helping people eat, move and feel better. I love this stuff.

After studying nutrition as a post-grad, I knew the science inside out, but I still couldn't find a plant protein that got it right.

So I got together with researchers from the UK and the Netherlands, and we started building something that we would take ourselves. Two years later, Nuscle was born.

Why it works

Proteins fall short because of quality — not quantity.

Plants and animals don't design themselves to be eaten, their proteins are often low in essential amino acids, incomplete or poorly-digested. Even whey from milk is intended for babies, so it's relatively low in EAAs!

Nuscle fixes these issues. The results are research-backed increases in muscle synthesis, less muscle breakdown and more.

In short it's a way to get more benefit, from less protein nothing artificial or unhealthy!

Gut EAA

Built for full absorption

+

Roughly one in every three grams of whole plant protein goes unabsorbed due to poor bioavailability, low EAAs, and leftover nutrients slowing things down.

Nuscle solves this by pre-digesting the formula. The complete protein base is broken down and filtered before you even drink it. While the tiny free-form EAAs pass directly into your bloodstream with zero digestive effort.

This means easy digestion and full absorption. At whey speed, not plant-protein speed.

EAA Release

Fast release amino acids

+

Roughly three hours after a protein dose, your muscles stop absorbing and responding to amino acids. This is called the muscle-full effect.

Good protein does three things. It lifts blood EAA levels quickly to trigger muscle processes. It holds them there for this whole window. Then it clears, so your muscles can reset for the next dose.

Whey fits this curve, but most plant protein fails all three. They digest too slowly, arrive late, and the slow drip blunts how well your muscles respond next time.

Nuscle runs two speeds at once. Free EAAs for the spike, complete hydrolysed protein for the hold.

High-EAA

More of what builds muscle

+

More essential amino acids mean stronger signals to repair and build muscle, and more raw materials to actually do the job.

Matching whey's EAA profile has been shown to match its results, but Nuscle goes further—delivering over 50% more total EAAs.

With double the EAAs of regular pea protein, and in balanced ratio, so less powder delivers much more of what we know muscles actually need.

Nuscle's formula is engineered to support muscle development even during aging, stress, dieting, or poor sleep. It includes twice the leucine of standard whey, the ideal 2:1:1 BCAA ratio and extra lysine — the critical amino acid that holds plant proteins back the most.

Complete EAA

Complete with all 9 EAAs

+

Your muscle responses are strictly capped by whichever essential amino acid you have least of. Run short on just one, and the rest go to waste.

This is why incomplete proteins underperform — research shows that even large doses barely lift muscle growth and preservation above baseline. Over time this means less muscle growth and more muscle loss.

Nuscle provides balanced ratios of all nine EAAs across its added EAAs and its complete protein base, to stop any single amino acid limiting your progress.

There is also a stock of all 11 non-essential amino acids, something most proteins don't have. Your body normally makes these itself, but stress, aging, dieting, hard training and poor sleep can slow production. Having them all there means that even if things aren't perfect, there's nothing silently holding you back.

Frequently asked questions

Mixing & texture

Collapsible content

How much water should I mix it with?

+

It's all about your preference so mix to suit your taste. We formulated Nuscle to never be too sweet, but if you're finding it a bit too zingy then here are the ranges you can experiment with:

For a single dose, mix 13.5g with 200-300ml of cold water.

For a double dose, mix 27g with 400-600ml of cold water.

Just use less water for a stronger flavour, or more if you prefer it lighter and more refreshing.

Why does it foam when I shake it?

+

Foam is normal in protein drinks because of how protein interacts with water when it is shaken, even with a natural foam control system like in Nuscle. It should settle in about 30-60 seconds, and it won’t affect any benefit from the product.

If you don't want to wait and you don't want to pour it into a glass after shaking, then here are some options:

  • Swirl it in your shaker with a rotational motion instead of shaking to minimise air disturbance
  • Stir it into water and take advantage of Nuscle's solubilised formula, it should dissolve quite easily

Can I mix it in advance and keep it in the fridge?

+

Though it is safe, we would advise mixing Nuscle when you want to drink it for two reasons:

  • Natural flavours can degrade in fruity drinks due to the low pH of the liquid, this is not unsafe, but over the course of hours may result in loss of flavour
  • You may also find that a certain amount of sediment starts to appear as the liquid cools down and undissolved protein settles

Why does it look cloudy — is that normal?

+

Yes, that’s completely normal. Nuscle is designed to be a juice-style clear protein drink, this means that it will get clearer over time, but never be fully transparent. With a high concentration of protein and deliberately varied levels of hydrolysis to sustain absorption, full transparency is almost impossible to achieve.

Can I mix it with ice, fruit juices or sparkling waters?

+

Yes, you can. Ice works well, and fruit juice or sparkling water can be used if you want a different flavour experience, though water is usually the best option for the cleanest taste and texture. Or throw it into your next smoothie like us!

timing & routine

Collapsible content

When is the best time to take it?

+

You can take Nuscle whenever it suits your routine — take a double dose (27g) after training or before sleep, or take a single dose (13.5g) to top-up meals, between meals, or during workouts.

But the best time is always the one you can take consistently.

Can I take it on rest days, does it still help?

+

Yes, if you're taking Nuscle to support exercise, then rest days are just as important as exercise.

Your body continues to recover and rebuild on non-training days, so using it then is powerful way supports your daily protein intake, recovery and muscle development.

Can I use it as a meal replacement?

+

No, Nuscle isn't intended to replace a full meal. We wanted to create the most effective protein supplement, so we avoided cramming potentially useless nutrients in, which take up space and dilute Nuscle's purpose.

It works best as a protein top-up, refreshing snack, sleep nutrition or as a pre/intra/post-workout option.

Can I take it with creatine, pre-workout, or other supplements?

+

Yes, it can generally be taken alongside other common supplements such as creatine or pre-workout. There is nothing in Nuscle that carries a risk of over-supplementation in doses under a pouch per day!

If you have medical conditions or take medication that could be affected by high protein meals, it’s always wise to check with a qualified healthcare professional first.

dosage & nutrition

Collapsible content

How many doses can I have per day?

+

Most people use two to four single doses (one to two double doses) per day.

This depends on your individual protein needs, fitness goals and overall diet. You can of course adjust this based on training, meals, and your daily target.

We set a soft limit of six single doses (three double doses per day). The reason we do this isn't a direct safety concern, it's just to ensure that Nuscle aren't being used as a members only protein source. There are obviously many other vitamins and minerals we need in our diets.

How much should I take to top-up a meal or snack?

+

Take a single dose (13.5g) to top-up meals, as snacks between meals, or during workouts.

This provides an essential amino acid supply similar to 20g of whey, enough to be a robust trigger for muscle growth, preservation and recovery.

How much should I take after a workout?

+

Take a double dose (27g) after training or before sleep

This provides an essential amino acid supply recognised by science to maximally stimulate muscle protein response, for the biggest possible trigger for muscle growth, preservation and recovery.

How much should I take in between meals?

+

Take a single dose (13.5g) for muscle support, recovery and development in between meals. For between meal nutrition aim to drink Nuscle at least 3 hours from your last meal, to ensure your muscles are sensitised to absorb amino acids effectively.

This provides an essential amino acid supply similar to 20g of whey, enough to be a robust trigger for muscle growth, preservation and recovery.

How is Nuscle different from regular plant protein?

+

Nuscle is designed to be a juice-style, smooth, and lighter-tasting protein drink, rather than a thick milkshake-style shake.

It is hydrolysed and EAA-enriched with a patent-pending essential amino acid profile. Designed to have superior digestibility, bioavailability, and a more useful EAA profile than any whole plant protein in completeness and total EAA content.

Nuscle was formulated to be easier to drink, more refreshing, and more effective than other plant protein supplements. To suit those who want a clean, everyday protein option.

product specific

Collapsible content

Is Nuscle 100% plant-based and vegan?

+

Yes, Nuscle is 100% plant-based and vegan. It’s made without animal-derived ingredients.

Is it allergen-free?

+

Nuscle is made to be suitable for many people, but allergen status depends on batch-testing and factory handling.

Please check the ingredient list and allergen information on the pack or product page before buying.

Does it contain any stimulants or banned substances?

+

No, Nuscle is not formulated as a stimulant product. It does not contain caffeine or other typical pre-workout stimulants, and it is designed as a clean protein supplement rather than an energy product.

Taking EAA and protein supplements, like Nuscle, during hard or long workouts is purely about muscle support. Their role is to reduce muscle damage, muscle loss, and speed recovery.

Why is the powder itself slightly grainy?

+

Powders like most essential amino acids and many plant peptides naturally repel water, making them very hard to mix.

We use processes like called microencapsulation and agglomeration so that they become wet and dissolve immediately.

Agglomeration clumps very fine dusty particles into larger porous granules that let water in much more easily. This is why it feels a bit sandy between your fingers.

Why does it taste different to a regular protein shake?

+

Nuscle is a juice-style clear protein drink, not a creamy shake. The texture is lighter, the finish is cleaner, and the flavour profile is designed to be refreshing rather than rich.

We've avoided the classic sweetener overload you find in most protein supplements and gone down a fresher, more zingy route, like fruit squash! This creates a balanced fruity flavour profile to mask any lingering ingredient tastes.

How should I store it and how long does it last once opened?

+

Store it in a cool, dry place with the pouch zipper tightly closed. Once opened, keep the pouch sealed fully and ideally use it within 3 months for the best freshness and taste.
